Qualification Details:

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites appliætion for walk-in-interview for engaging Project Personnel for an IUCN-KFW funded collaborative project between Wildlife Institute of India and zoological Society of London entitled "Supporting trans-boundary recovery in India and Nepal". This proposed project aims to contribute towards a viable tiger meta-population in the Terai Arc Landscape (TAL). It is part of the Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP) funded by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the German Development Bank, KfvV. The area to covered by the project extends to over 1500 km2, in Nandhaur Landscape and the main project components include management effectiveness, law enforcement, habitat management, management of human-wildlife conflict (HWC) and livelihood development. The positions are purely on contract basis for a period of one year. The EQ and other details are provided below:

1. Engagement Position (One Position): Project Associate-I (01) I/ Project Associate- II (01): Community Livelihood/Human Wildlife Conflict
a. Master's degree in MSW (Social Sciences/Rural Development) / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences / Forest Management/Life Sciences Natural or Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.( Project Associate-I) OR aster's degree in MSW (Social Sciences/RuraI Development) / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences / Forest Management/Life Sciences Natural or Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. AND 2 years experience in Research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and Services. (Project Associate- II)

2. Work description & Key responsibilities: 
1. Conduct a rapid social-economic survey in the project site and assess level of human wildlife conflict Design and conduct field surveys, data collection, and analysis and preparation of report 
2. Experience of working on community mobilization, formation of groups and livelihood issues of local communities in the project site Identify beneficiaries for different livelihood activities and mitigation measures
3. Conduct focus group interviews and in consultation with target local communities, facilitate training in a suite of feasible, economically viable livelihood opportunities for communities' impact by the project
and prepare technical reports. 
4. Conduct education and awareness program for increased awareness for wildlife among community members and educational institutions adjoining Nandhaur Landscape
5. Experience in community health and mainly women health Data anal is andre report writing

3. Duration: One Year

4. Location area of project: The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Nandhaur Landsca e Uttarakhand

5. Emoluments: 
1. Project Associate-I (01) : 31 ,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. 25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) (ii) above. 
2. Project Associate- II (01): 35,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC including lectureship (Assistant NET Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. 28,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

B. Project Associate-I (01) I Project Associate- II (01): (Camera trapping and Patrol based monitoring):

1. Qualifications: Master's degree in Wildlife Sciences / Environmental Science / / Forest Management / Life Sciences / Natural or Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.( Project Associate-I) OR Master's degree in Wildlife Sciences / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences / Forest Management/Life Sciences Natural or Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. AND 2 years in Research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and Services. (Project Associate- II

2. Work description & Key responsibilities: 
1. Design and conduct field surveys, data co ectlon, an analysis and report preparation.
2. Carry out the tiger, prey and habitat monitoring work as per the approved work plan under the supervision of project Supervisor/Project Manager in Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary.
3. Carrying out training for frontline staff patrol-based monitoring using M-STrlPES and camera trapping and prey monitoring.
4. Supporting frontline staff to conduct regular patrol based monitoring
5. Providing logistical support to Project Manager to support training programmes in Wildlife forensic, information-gathering and data handling.
6. Supporting Uttarakhand Forest Department in collating data from camera trapping, patrol based monitoring and compiling monthly reports for management authorities.
7. Support the biological monitoring team to conduct tiger, prey and habitat monitoring work as needed 
8. Responsible for technical reporting pertaining to implementing rigorous patrol based monitoring in study area.
9. Responsible for technical reporting pertaining to tiger conservation in study area.

3. Duration: One Year

4. Location area of project: The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Nandhaur Landscap Uttarakhand.

5. Emoluments:
1. Project Associate-I (01) :  31 ,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC (Assistant lectureship including NET Professorshi or GATE or b A selection process through National level examinations conducted byCentral Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. 25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above. 
2. Project Associate- II (01) (ii) 35,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC (Assistant lectureship including NET Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their  Agencies and Institutions. 28,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.


Age Limit:

Not Exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories ma be relaxed as r the rules. Project Associate-I (01) :

1. The Candidate should send duly filled application form (Annexure 1) to the Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun, 248002 within one month from the date of publication of the advertisement. The selection will on the basis of Interview. The performance if the candidate will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the 
Interview/Selection Committee. 

2. Application form should be in the prescribed format, with self-attested copies of documents on educational qualifications, extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheet of all examinations, community certificate (if sought relaxation as per Government of India rules), etc. The application form is attached herewith. 

3. The last date of receipt of application will be 30th November 2020. The date of Walk-in-Interview is 10th December 2020

Selection Procedure:

1. The shortlisted candidate will be called for Interview.
