Qualification Details:
Applications are invited for the post of Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer (temporary positions-contractual appointments) for Information Technology and infrastructure services (ITIS) unit for a period of three years. The contract may be extended based on need of the Institute and performance of candidate.
1. Post Name: Project Engineer - Software Testing & Validation (3 Positions)

3. Essential Qualification:
MTech/ME/MS in Computer Science and Engineering/Information technology or equivalent with relevant experience (project carried out during master’s degree will be considered). OR B.Tech./ B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology or equivalent with two years of relevant experience. OR M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent with three years of relevant experience. OR M.C.A. from a recognized University or statutory body with three years of relevant experience.
4. Desirable Qualification: Testing techniques such as UI Testing, Automated Testing, Test Driven Development Strategies, White box and black box testing etc.. Basic scripting and programming knowledge. Web security technology Software QA tools and processes
5. Duties And Responsibilities:
a. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
b. Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
c. Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
d. Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
e. Test current products and identify deficiencies
f. Suggest solutions to identified problems
g. Collect quality data
h. Identify key KPIs for product quality

MTech/ME/MS in Computer Science and Engineering/Information technology or equivalent with one year of relevant experience OR B.Tech./ B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology or equivalent with three years of relevant experience. OR M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent with five years of relevant experience. OR M.C.A. from a recognized University or statutory body with five years of relevant experience.
4. Desirable Qualification: Programming in Java 8 or higher, J2EE Project Experience in Java Streams Troubleshooting performance and resolving issues with coding & design. Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices Experience of developing web services using containers and controllers on Tomcat/Apache/nginx. Hands on experience with handling JSON/XML, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, Bootstrap etc. Extensive experience designing and, developing RESTful APIs, Microservices and Webservices. Experience with SQL and noSQL databases.
5. Duties And Responsibilities:
a. Develop and implement new software programs
b. Debugging of software programs
c. Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
d. Collaborate with other developers and engineers to design, build, debug and maintain software
e. Troubleshoot software issues

3. Essential Qualification:
MTech/ME/MS in Computer Science and Engineering/Information technology or equivalent with one year of relevant experience OR B.Tech./ B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology or equivalent with three years of relevant experience. OR M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent with five years of relevant experience. OR M.C.A. from a recognized University or statutory body with five years of relevant experience..
4. Desirable Qualification:
a. Server managements and administrations such as Apache, Name server, LDAP, Radius, Proxy and SMTP.
b. Knowledge of Virtualization (VMware Exsi and Xen).
c. Firewall (Policy Managements and ACLs)
d. Networks and Security Tools
e. Hands on experience in managing networking, routing and switching
f. Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server and network infrastructure
g. Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
h. Ability to set up and configure servers and private cloud.
i. Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
5. Duties And Responsibilities:
a. Assist in network design and implementation.
b. Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
c. Install and configure computer network equipment.
d. Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations.
e. Provide network support to users.
f. Maintain servers, private cloud and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.
g. Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources.
h. Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up.
i. Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
j. Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
k. Create and maintain network users/permissions.
l. Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
m. Create technical support documentation for systems and applications.

Selection Procedure:
1. Candidates will be called for interview and may have to appear in written/computer based trade test.
2. Merely meeting of minimum qualification does not guarantee the candidate to be called for interview/written test. Institute reserves its rights to limit the number of candidates to be called for the interview/written test by applying appropriate shortlisting criteria
