Qualification Details:

(A). Postdoctoral position (2 No.) in the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata

1. Post Name: Post Doctoral Position

2. Eligibility:

i. The applicant must have obtained PhD degree from a recognized University/ Institute in India or abroad. Those who have submitted their PhD thesis and are awaiting award of the degree are also eligible to apply, on producing a thesis submission certificate.

ii. However, such candidates, if selected, will be offered lower fellowship amount till they qualify the eligible degree or till he/she produces at least a provisional certificate of successful thesis defense.

iii. A candidate may also apply if his/her supervisor certifies that the thesis will be submitted before the joining date. However, such persons, if selected, will be allowed to join only if he/she  submits the thesis within the specified deadline for joining.

3. Post-doctoral Position 1:

4. Essential: PhD in Biochemistry/Life Science in the area of cancer biology.

5. Desirable:

Expertise (supported by publication track-records) in: primary and secondary animal cell culture techniques; molecular biology protocols including DNA/RNA isolation techniques, PCR, Western blot, immunohistochemical staining techniques, etc.; microscopic studies of animal cells; in vivo experiments with animals models of disease.

6. Post-doctoral Position 2:

7. Essential: PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry preferably at the interface of organic chemistry and biology.

8. Desirable:

Expertise (supported by publication track-records) in design & synthesis of peptide or lipid-based nanoparticles for biomedical applications; familiarity in animal cell culture techniques; basic molecular biology protocols including DNA/RNA isolation techniques, PCR, Western blot, immunohistochemical staining techniques, etc. would be plus.

9. The fellowship will be offered for one year.

10. Fellowship: Consolidated 50,000 per month

Age Limit:

The upper age limit is 40 years on the date of advertisement. Age relaxation of 5 (five) years will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates.
